We are honored to introduce Maddox to our Cancer Kickers family! This tough little boy is 2.5 years old. Maddox was diagnosed with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on October 10, 2020.This past October Maddox’s mom noticed some bruising on her son that seemed more intense than the average bruises toddlers typically have. She decided to take Maddox to the pediatrician to have some blood work run. The next morning, Maddox’s family received a call from the doctor asking them to immediately return to his office. When they arrived, the pediatrician confirmed their worst fears. He suspected Maddox had Leukemia. The doctor referred Maddox to Duke Hospital.

Upon arrival at Duke Hospital, additional labs were run. The team of doctors there confirmed that Maddox did in fact have B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. He is considered high risk and will receive treatment for roughly the next 2.5 years.

Maddox was described to us as a “Spunky boy! He loves baby shark, dinos, toy cars and army men. He loves to cuddle with mama and watch his favorite movies on Netflix.” Maddox has a wonderful support system at home! He has five brothers and sisters who are his biggest cheerleaders!
